Hastings, Sir Edward (1382–1438), soldier and litigant, was born on 21 May 1382 at Fenwick, Yorkshire, the second son of Sir Hugh Hastings (d. 1386/7) of Elsing, Norfolk, and great-grandson of Sir Hugh Hastings (c. 1310–1347).
