Greig, Alexis Samuilovich (1775–1845), naval officer in the Russian service, son of Sir Samuel Greig (1735–1788), was born at Kronstadt on 18 September 1775. As a reward for his father's services, he was enrolled at his birth as a midshipman in the Russian navy.
