Cochrane, Kelso Benjamin (1926–1959), carpenter and murder victim, was born on 26 September 1926 in the small village of Johnson's Point, Antigua, the son of Stanley Cochrane, a carpenter and shipwright, and Johanna Valentine. He was one of eleven siblings and half-siblings.
