Hosier, Arthur Julius (1877–1963), farmer and engineer, was born on 16 October 1877 at Shawford, Somerset, the twelfth and youngest child of Joshua Hosier, tenant dairy farmer, and his second wife, Sarah Fricker, a farmer's daughter from Frome.
