Rhigyfarch ap Sulien [Ricemarchus] (1056/7–1099), scholar and teacher, was the eldest son of Sulien, sometime bishop of St David's. He was born in 1056 or 1057 (the date is computed from the fact that, according to the Brut y tywysogyon, he was in his forty-third year when he died in 1099). According to the obituary notice in that source, 'he was the most learned of all the race of the Britons and there had not been before him his equal nor after him his like nor in his lifetime his peer' (...
