October 2018

This update adds thirty-seven new articles, with a focus on global lives, and a selection of  communist biographies curated by Professor Kevin Morgan of the University of Manchester.

Oliver Tambo

Oliver Tambo (d.1993), latterly national chairman of the African National Congress,  fled South Africa in 1960, and had a home in London for thirty years.   In exile, he helped the ANC to survive, and has been seen as the father of South Africa’s democratic constitution.
